We got one of the last stats.xml files from Willy. With thanks for that. This contains some more data that can help reconstruct people's accounts.
In the mean time, when you contact Jack through email and your computer is attached to DD, then you have virtually all the information about your account at your fingertips.
In your BOINC Data directory you can look in these files:
- the account_boinc.drugdiscoveryathome.com.xml file will contain your account key (authenticator key). You can send that along to Jack.
- the client_state.xml file will contain your user name and hostID for the computer you're attached to DD with.
Do NOT change anything in these files. When asked if you want to save the file, click No.
Because the
stats.xml file does not contain
all information about everyone. The stats.xml file only contains things as your user ID, user name, credits etc. but
NOT the account key or email address.
All we're left with in the database at this moment is people's account keys.
With no data available to us who these account keys are for, Jack has to match all that by hand. A time consuming operation, that he has to juggle at the same time as he's doing his normal day job and he also has his normal life.
At such a moment it's more urgent to get the accounts matched to people. Credit is for later, it's not that urgent.
We can't guarantee that all accounts will be recovered. Nicolas is helping out in this, but it will stay possible that for ~200 people their account is lost completely.
