Gerasim is back and has a new URL:

I seem to be connected to gerasim through Almere grid but cannot find it in my projects list on here. I am not receiving any work, I have connected through the new URL but it seems to be missing from my projects page, any ideas?

According to the project status info page, Gerasim has been offline since 08-23-10. When did you join?

Hi, I joined on 2nd june 2010. However I think I may be having some other problem as I am showing as having 5 hosts here which in fact are all the same host but some of my projects seem to have wandered off on their own and created new CPID's which dont seem to have resolved themselves. I have no idea what is going wrong as I have always used the same email username etc. Cheers for the help though, maybe it will eventually sort itself out.

I also have the same host(s) showing up multiple times and seemingly always have. As long as my total credit is right on the detailed stats page, I just ignore the multiple entries as a cost of doing business so to speak.

The problem with Gerasim is that first of all they use completely non standard BOINC webserver code, even worse than WCG.

Secondly, the reported scheduler url (http://gerasim.boinc.ru/sched/gsm.sched) is returning a 404 error. This means the url is down. The scheduler status list shows the scheduler status, not the project webpage status. The shown status for Gerasim is correct.

From one of their admin, SerVal, I got this message: http://forum.gerasim.boinc.ru/default.aspx?g=posts&t=16. They are on hold
pending review of the earlier WUs. They are online though, but their upload/download server isnt. The reply was dated 08.28.2010 It's hard to find information as the site is heavily Russian. SerVal says new workunits will be no sooner than 10 days from his dated post. It's now 19 days.

There is no problem to replace a 404 error on something else.
For example, now http://gerasim.boinc.ru/sched/gsm.sched returns

Does anyone know what has happened to this project ?
Sent a PM to SerVal from here a couple of days ago but no reply yet.
Has been offline for some days now and I have some WUs trying to upload which will be unfit for human consumption after mid-day tomorrow.....

Shhhh, they are all sleeping.

SerVal reported that the project server is physically damaged due to problems with electricity supply. PSU, motherboard and RAM was damaged.
He was away all this time and therefore he didn't do anything.
Probably, server will be restored after next weekend.

Everybody is talking about Gerasim@Home yet I do not see it in the BAM Menu as an available project to sign -up. Noted that it is listed as one of the projects run by the BOINCStat team. Is there a reason for not listing it?

The project seems to be working correctly, stats are being updated, work is being generated and validated, etc.

Is it time to add Gerasim to the "Sign-up for projects" list?

The scheduler is no longer getting a 404 error. It now shows this:

Yeah, it seems wrong to me that Teams like BOINCStats are able to crunch this project and their results are shown in the stats, yet it is hidden from us mortals. Either it exists and shown up as an available project or if not their export stats should not show up either. The fact that the site is using unusual configurations should not come into question and if it does than why is it allowed in BOINCStast Team and not avaiable to the general public.

What are you complaining about? Please take a look at the gerasim team and user stats. There are many many teams and users crunching this project and getting credit.

Thanks for your reply Curly. What I am complaining about is that it is not listed in BAM - Sign Up for projects, therefore if you rely on BAM you would miss out on this project as it is not listed. Willy has indicated that the project has problems and another Russian member stated that the Project Server is damaged. I have not been able to access the Web site using IE, FireFox, Opera, Commodo Dragon or Chrome for days. Never the less it should be listed and if and when the project comes back on line you should b able to access it within BAM. My understanding is that is one of the things that BOINC/BAM is good at and I would like to use it to its full capabilities.

I just checked and the BAM! bits of BOINC are now encoded into Gerasim. I enabled the project in BAM!.

I cannot guarantee that everything works, that is up to the Gerasim programmers.
