There is a new project called SlinCa

Unfornately most users have been automatically added to the project, but the receive temporary password email does not function correctly as email is never recieved. Have checked my ISP and it still does not appear.

Hopefully someone knows how to contact them and let them know its not working as without logging on one can not create a message or question in their forums.

I have contacted the admin, and told him about the problem. He said that he was going to fix my password problem, and look into the email server issue. But he is away for the weekend, so nothing until next week at the earliest.

He fixed my password problem. Not sure of the status of the server issue.

FWIW, you can going their (separate) forum, and communicate to the admin there.

I can't get into the Forum, tried for 3 Hr's, it accepted my registration but the Activation link had nothing in it for me to activate the account. I have a Project Account though from a few days ago. Can somebody that can actually get in the Forum ask them to turn their Feeder back on as I have Wu's Backing up that can't be Reported nor can I get new work. The Wu's Upload but can't be Reported because the Feeder is turned off ...

Nice, the Project just Aborted 50+ finished Wu's and sent me more, what in the world would make them think I'll get suckered into running them ...

To late now as I already deleted it, I sent a PM to somebody at the the Project with my Problem, haven't heard from them yet but may later today ...

EDIT: It isn't the Browser that needs to see the Link anyway, it's Outlook Express that doesn't see anything for a Link or Message ...

Somebody at the Project just Validated my Forum Registration so I could log in & Post if I wanted to ...

I tried this project, but...

You know, I think it is a waste of time to run 7-20 hours WUs without checkpoints. In 3 days I finished maybe only 3 or 4 WUs on my work computer, because I had to restart it several times. So sad...

Very few New Projects have Checkpoints in their Wu's & have to be talked into implementing the Checkpointing, it's just the nature of the Beast. To them they just can't see a/the problem with losing 2-3 hr's or more of work if there's no Checkpointing ...

thanks for your interest, critics, and care about quality of our project!

Our project is in alpha-testing status yet (limited server hardware, nonlinear chronometry of progress, long workunits up to 4-5 hours, absence of checkpointing - at the moment, some temporal hardships with stability of application versions, etc).
Moreover, we are not truly 'public' yet (project-related wiki and other docs are under construction yet), but we will try to reach this level as soon as possible.

BUT! We would like to thank you for cooperation that allowed us to find the current limits of hardware, malfunctioning of some scripts, non-optimal load distribution among master and slave part of application during the project scaling-up to >10K workunits and > 1K active workers. That is why we talk about alpha-testing status.

Recently, owing to our urgent supporters we improved our work and reached the remarkable level of >1 TFLOP/s (>500 active PCs), despite the alpha-testing status of our project. Moreover, we accelerated our work by more than 30-40 times in comparison to our annual plan and got production results at the testing stage even.

Thanks to all for this 'nano'-scale, but very important step!

During the following 5 days (4-8 March) we foresee some potential problems with a stable power supply.
That is why, we apologize in advance, if some unpredictable problems will appear due to temporal inaccessibility of SLinCA project server.

Can someone please inform Yuri that the forgotton password email system is not working? Most of us were added to SlinCa via team copy. But we are unable to retrieve the temporary password assigned.
