Is this the same as Einstein ?? If so why do some stats show them seperately ?? BoincStats does not show Albert@home at all.

I've asked the E@H-guys yesterday on the event in Hannover about Albert@Home: It was never intended to get public participation, they were quite surprised that it was a ) known to anyone outside the institute and b ) some people even crunched for it. They were thinking about a test project after my question, but for now it's just a glitch that it had been accessible to outsiders, so don't expect any XML-exports.

Anyway, the credits of the imported participants got imported as well, if I look at my credits there, and the credits I had in E@H some time ago, it has to have been sometime in 2008. So if they start exporting credits, the old ones have to be cleared first.

I had contact with the Einstein@Home people and they state that nobody should use Albert@Home, it's not intended for public use. They very much regret that the project got out in the open. It's an internal test project, thus for internal use only.

As Saenger said, the users and credits in the project are a copy of an ancient Einstein@Home database. Essentially, including the project in stats means duplicating Einstein credits.

There will also be no work in at least the next six months.

It is very much discouraged to do anything with the project (create accounts/teams, add hosts etc).

All this means that BOINCstats nor BAM! will include/support Albert@Home!.
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

Info from project site:

Credit reset
The BOINC database on Albert@Home was (and actually still is) an outdated copy of that on Einstein@Home. This includes (outdated) credit gained on Einstein@Home, which would mess up stats if stat site would include Albert@Home. In order to get Albert@Home ready as an officiall public test project, we reset the credit records on Albert@Home.

Yes, it's now reset to even some point behind the start, credits crunched in the not really open time were deleted as well, but that's the fate of us ATAs.
And, to quote Bernd:

Bernd Machenschalk wrote:
Right now we used the Albert@home DB just to test our new BRP workunit generator. Actually crunching those WUs is a waste of resources. Albert@home will certainly become the official test project once we actually need help, e.g. for testing server side components (credit new, new locality scheduling etc.). But atm. we have too much other things to do on the main project to care much about Albert.

There is no reason to keep it secret, but also no urgency to promote it yet.

One thing we intend to test there is crediting, currently the new credit system of BOINC and later e.g. credit of new applications. This is a test project, something may go severely wrong e.g. with credit any time. If you do care much about credit, then I think Albert is the wrong project for you.
