This is one of those "I can't believe someone did this!" things, but unless someone at Sourceforge is having a laugh at us, there is a BOINC application (cunningly called BOINCoid) available for the Android phone: http://boincoid.sourceforge.net/.

It seems silly, as you'd only be able to run it when you're charging the beast, and I doubt that the processing power is up to much, but still, it looks good! Maybe I will have to add this to my collection, which includes a tricorder and a light sabre...

Then there's a BOINCStats widget too.

Once I've installed them, I'll let you know my thoughts. Meantime if anyone else is brave enough to run the client, I'd be curious to see what it would do.
