Hi there.
Some of my hosts sync to wrong work preferences. Even when I change those so that they're the latest ones the machines fall back onto some others.
Still, they tell me they use Boincstags, not some preferences from any projects.
This is quite a bother as several projects are paused or wu crashed due to not having enough memory to run.

This is still happening.
In the Boinc client's messages I can see that different preferences are loaded at different times on one machine, directly after contacting projects.
Still, it's always a sync with Boincstats.
If I do one manually the client always syncs to the appropriate one but, if syncing automatically it's different ones.

I noticed something: Whenever a connection to Boincstats is established there might be a Boincstats id sent.
If so, the client gets the proper preferences. If not so, my standard Boincstats preferences are loaded.

I think that the BAM! Host id is only sent when the client asks BAM! for prefs and that it is missing when a project triggers the preferences update.
May that be right?
If so, the proper procedure should be included into the next client, or the projects which show unpleasant behaviour should be banned from my machines.
I hope someone can confirm this.
I'll be asking this elsewhere as well.
