It seems that there is an issue with BOINC version 8 Beta and BAM!
Several of my computers ran out of work while attached to BAM! and detaching solved the problem immediately.
Here is a good example where account manager prefs wouldn't allow Asteroids GPU work (CPU work from other projects will also get starved) and after stop using account manager is selected, work is downloaded.
I haven't seen this behavior with version 7 BOINC hosts and still have a feeling it's a BAM! bug but could be easily convinced its a BOINC bug.

This is how I solved the issue of
Not requesting tasks: don't need … NVIDIA GPU: account manager prefs

• Stop using BOINCstatsBAM!
• Remove project Asteroids@home in BOINC Manager
• Go to that host on BAM! Website and detach from Asteroids@home, save and reattach
• Start using BAM! Account manager
• Asteroids@home | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks

Still stubborn hosts reverted to
Not requesting tasks: don't need … NVIDIA GPU: account manager prefs

These updated steps fixed even those stubborn hosts. BAM! No longer controls Asteroids@home, but work is downloaded.
• Stop using BOINCstatsBAM!
• Remove project Asteroids@home in BOINC Manager
• Go to that host on BAM! Website and detach from Asteroids@home
• Start using BAM! Account manager
• Attach to Asteroids@home through the BOINC Manager
• Asteroids@home | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks

Have you checked whether the project counts towards your tasks in BAM!
If you add a project locally in Boinc, BAM may not count it.
I have also removed it from BAM!, it is not added when the project is integrated via Boinc.

In my case it is the project SRBase, which no longer works.
If I add it again, it runs for a day, but if BAM! updates the config overnight, no more tasks are created. Worse still, no more points are credited, even though tasks are processed correctly. See:

https://srbase.my-firewall.org/sr5/workunit.php?wuid=5494786 = Tasks finished
https://www.boincstats.com/stats/157/host/detail/206977/lastDays = 0 points a day

Maybe it is a BOINC update problem with V8, since then problems.
Note: I could not find the project SRBase in Boinc, in the item "!Add project..."!
Maybe also a problem.

I have had this problem with SRBase also and following these steps solved the problem:

• Stop using BOINCstatsBAM!
• Remove project SRBase in BOINC Manager
• Go to that host on BAM! Website and detach from SRBase
• Start using BAM! Account manager
• Attach to SRBase through the BOINC Manager (SRBase is available in the choose projects list if you scroll down)

Also, reverting back to BOINC v7 will fix the problems with BAM!

I had uninstalled Boinc on 01.08.24 and deleted everything.
The file: all_projects_list.xml now does not contain the SRBase project. I still use a second PC with Boinc, same version, V8.0.2, but only updated, not deleted before. Here the file is older, with SRBase. I have transferred the project data to the other file. Now it is visible.
How old is your file?

However, this does not solve the actual problem. I had also removed SRBase from BAM!, waited two days, added it again. Error remains.

The properties of project SRBase in Boinc, after BAM! Overnight:
Planning
Planning priority -4.89
Do not request a task forProcessor: Project settings
Do not request task forProcessor: Account manager settings
Do not request a task forNVIDIA GPU: Account Manager settings
Last server response: 04.08.2024 18:27:01Planning

Result in log:
Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: account manager prefs; NVIDIA GPU: account manager prefs)

Current (removed and added this morning):
Planning
Scheduling priority -1.64
Do not request a task forProcessor: Project settings
Last server response: 08.08.2024 12:05:12

Result in log:
08.08.2024 13:51:41 | SRBase | Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: blocked by project preferences; NVIDIA GPU: )
That's ok, GPU is not blocked.

Already synced several times today with BAM! But tomorrow morning it should change again to "Account manager settings" (CPU and GPU).
None of the other 12 projects on the PC have the entry: "Account manager settings", only SRBase, where does that come from?

I think Account Manager Prefs refer to the preferences adjusted in BAM!
Go to your preferences in BAM! and have a look at things that you might have adjusted there.

Do not add SRBase through BAM! if you are using BOINC v8. Use these steps:
• Stop using BOINCstatsBAM!
• Remove project SRBase in BOINC Manager
• Go to that host on BAM! Website and detach from SRBase
• Start using BAM! Account manager
• Attach to SRBase through the BOINC Manager

This is a workaround, ok. But it means that my points are no longer credited to my account, maybe not even to my team.
At the moment I have 71,506,222 points in Boinc, in BAM! only 71,400,222.11, because I have already calculated without BAM!

BAM! will pick up the credit you earn even if your hosts are not attached through it.

What I noticed when I was using v8, after observing the acct_mgr_reply.xml file a bit was a couple of things. First, the parameters no_ati, no_cuda and no_cpu were now combined into a single no_rsc setting.

For some reason, after a few hours, BAM would inexplicably (only on SRBase I noticed, but the machine using v8 wasn't attached to very many project) start adding NVIDIA to the no_rsc setting, so the client would no longer fetch NVIDIA tasks. I could temporarily make it go away by going into that host's settings on BAM, disabling NVIDIA and re-enabling it, and then again syncing the client with BAM, but it would reappear after a few hours. No change is reflected on BAM itself, it just starts sending it in the no_rsc setting for no reason I can identify. It looks to me like a bug in BAM, but I suppose it could be something about how v8 sends the request. It seems odd that it only affected SRBase, while PrimeGrid and Private GFN Server were fine.

Reverting to v7 completely fixed the problem on that machine.

I'm having the same issue with SRBase, using BAM! on boinc v8.0.4.
Whenever I make a change on the host-group settings for SRBase and sync with BAM!, all is fine.
But on the next scheduled BAM! sync, it reverts to not requesting work due to account manager preferences.
acct_mgr_reply.xml has suddenly the following lines:
Code:
<no_rsc>CPU</no_rsc>
<no_rsc>ATI</no_rsc>
<no_rsc>NVIDIA</no_rsc>
<no_rsc>intel_gpu</no_rsc>

Which I didn't add as preferences in BAM!

The same is true for asteroids.

SRBase and asteroids are the only 2 projects that have an entry in acct_mgr_reply.xml, so other projects are not affected by this.

An additional thing I notice is that SRBase reports 0 work in progres in the BAM! pages where all other projects show work in progress just fine.
(not currently crunching asteroids, so no idea if it is the same there)

I just noticed that all projects affected by this bug are having a URL with 'http://' in the 'acct_mgr_reply.xml' file, whereas the correct project's URL is using 'https://'

Could this be the reason?

Is there any solution for this bug?
Or anybody is working on it?
