My point was that changing your name on other projects won't change anything. The "link" here is your BAM username and your WCG username.
The original post I'm referring to said if you change the username here to match the username at WCG (assuming the username is available here), then to keep consistency change the names at the other site, and all the names can be the same.
What is your point on continuing this conversation if you still haven't addressed the problem??? Is this why issues don't get resolved? Please do not harp on the issue of the difference between username and name. How does it help the BAM to explain "changing your name on other projects won't change anything" when my first post clearly said I don't agree with this. If you want an argument, go find that other post and post there.
This thread is trying to resolve the issue of having a different name here then with WCG. Moreover, I’m referring to having a uniformity. If I use "XYZ" on all projects EXCEPT WCG, and I use "XYZ" here, I don't want to be told that since I use "ABC" at WCG, that I should have "ABC" here too, and I can go ahead change my name at all other projects to “ABC”. I’d recommend you read the other posts with these issues, if you still are not understanding this. I am saying that I don’t think this should be the only solution.
The point of having usernames/names to include next to the projects was just a suggestion. I was suggesting this as it would resolve the username problem at WCG, and would allow for more flexibility for future projects if they should be similar to WCG.
To reiterate for clarity:
WCG is not showing up in the "Sign-up for projects" and it is not listed in "Project List". How can this be corrected.
