World Community Grid project I believe originally used a different setup where the Username may not be what your Username is for the other projects. This is the case with my account.

Well, BAM can seem to log in to get my stats. My username here is Nunu as well as with all my other projects. However, it is Nunuorig for World Community Grid. Any suggestions how I can get BAM to update World Community Grid AND by adding it to the rest of my BOINC stats?

What's strange is it shows up in some of my stats, bot the more recent, but in Sign-up for projects in the My BAM menu, if shows it's not connected as Wrong Password, and it is not listed in my Project List. However, it does show up in My detailed stats.

Maybe BAM should have multiple login choices, or allow you to specify a different username/password combo for different projects?

Kind Regards!

I know this post is similar to:

http://www.boincstats.com/forum/forum_thread.php?id=1226

However, WCG is not showing up in the "Sign-up for projects" and it is not listed in "Project List".

Can a moderator or tester respond with any suggestions?

Kind Regards.

BAM! and stats are not the same. Your stats 'account' is not equal to your BAM! account. Stats are calculated completely separate from BAM!.
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

How do I get my Project list to update for WCG without a place for additional usernames per project?

I have seen other posts which suggest changing the username for all the other projects. This doesn't really seem right, as the person who used the same username for WCG would need to change their username for all other projects they joined elsewhere. Furthermore, there still would be a conflict with the username on this site and a new account would need to be created here.

Where does stats get the data to do the statistics for the accounts? With all do respect, your answer is quite ambiguous.

Kind Regards

Changing the username for other projects? WCG is the *only* BOINC project with the concept of a "username" to login...

Yeah, I was refering to the "Name". Username is what I believe it is called in the other posts, which are mentioned a few times that still haven't been resolved. Regardless, I still think that is a ridiculous work-around.

The point being, can we get BAM to use multiple login's for this? Or perhaps have a username section by each project that may require this (Now or in the future)? This would allow for a fix with WCG.

My point was that changing your name on other projects won't change anything. The "link" here is your BAM username and your WCG username.

The original post I'm referring to said if you change the username here to match the username at WCG (assuming the username is available here), then to keep consistency change the names at the other site, and all the names can be the same.

What is your point on continuing this conversation if you still haven't addressed the problem??? Is this why issues don't get resolved? Please do not harp on the issue of the difference between username and name. How does it help the BAM to explain "changing your name on other projects won't change anything" when my first post clearly said I don't agree with this. If you want an argument, go find that other post and post there.

This thread is trying to resolve the issue of having a different name here then with WCG. Moreover, I’m referring to having a uniformity. If I use "XYZ" on all projects EXCEPT WCG, and I use "XYZ" here, I don't want to be told that since I use "ABC" at WCG, that I should have "ABC" here too, and I can go ahead change my name at all other projects to “ABC”. I’d recommend you read the other posts with these issues, if you still are not understanding this. I am saying that I don’t think this should be the only solution.

The point of having usernames/names to include next to the projects was just a suggestion. I was suggesting this as it would resolve the username problem at WCG, and would allow for more flexibility for future projects if they should be similar to WCG.

To reiterate for clarity:

WCG is not showing up in the "Sign-up for projects" and it is not listed in "Project List". How can this be corrected.

It can be corrected by the project team @WCG.
They are the ones to blame about this mess-up, Willy can do nothing about it.
He, and BAM!, behaves correct according to BOINC standard, WCG doesn't comply with it. Why should Willy harm this site (and I think doing all this extras for only one project will cause harm, at least on his time and money budget) by trying to comfort a sub-standard project site?

If you want to have a consistent nick for all projects, and one project is as picky and awkward as WCG is, and you want to incluude this one in your account, you have to go along the lines of the picky and awkward handled project. The other projects, that behave along the common standard will follow suite, but this is nothing Willy can do anything about (besides complain @WCG, and you can do so as well in their forum, as they are the cause of the problem).
