Pirates@Home has some special settings like preferred punishment or pirate name.
When I attach to BAM!, all those settings will be overwritten with empty values.

Is there anything other than detaching from BAM! to avoid this behaviour?

BTW, how can I detach a single project from BAM! only, without detaching it from all hosts?

Thanks.

I've noticed that any time I make a change to Rosetta settings in BAM, it also wipes out the project-specific setting for Run Rime.

This is because project specific settings are not supported by the current (and latest) version of the AMS "protocol".

There are two possible solutions to this problem:
1: projects could shield their specific settings from being updated by an AMS
2: projects could supply me with info on how to set these project specific settings

.none of the projects does either of these.

After BAM! trashes the settings you can go and reset them at the project. They will stay until the next time you update settings at BAM!.

I just checked in a patch for BOINC web code which will preserve project specific settings if they are present. You will have to wait until the projects update their web code for the change to take effect (updated PrimeGrid).

OK, thanks for replies folks! Not a big thing cause I don't use BAM anyway. I was just playin aroun a little to see if some issues from the first days have been fixed. If not I can live without BAM!, too.

But I'm a little bit surprised by the fact that development projects like Pirates@home or Rosetta are not willing to give any support.

2: projects could supply me with info on how to set these project specific settings
IMHO, an AMS manager should be active to make his AMS the best. You can't just wait for project to provide information on how to change the project specific settings. I think you'll get quite a few projects to provide this info with a simple mail to the projects mailing list. I know it's possible to edit wcg subproject management as gridrepublic does so.

On occasion I send emails to the project mailing list. Response is low, if any.

At WCG I have a direct contact, I've asked him about the subproject management GR claims to have. He assured me there is no such function to use by an AMS.
