I noticed that one of my machines was missing from the host list in BAM!. When I tried to re-add it using the web form, I was redirected to the host details page of an existing machine and nothing was added. I tried to add a host using several different names, to rule out naming collisions, and always got the same result.

At the moment, I'm unsure how to diagnose this further. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!

Strange... I've neved added a host that way; I just tell BoincManager to use a BAM! account and it is added automatically on the host list here - Are you sure you specified correct BAM! account on your machine, and you didn't change name/password here?

I can also add easily a new host here w/o the problem you said, so I suggest you click on "syncronize with bs/BAM" on the tools menu of the BoincManager, to see if it it's added again

Cheers

I use the Linux command line client on a machine without X and thus can't use BoincManager, but I suppose
Code:
boinc_cmd --join_acct_mgr http://bam.boincstats.com <myname> <mypwd>
should do the same, right? I had tried that, with no success...

If you were trying to add through the BAM! website in hopes of using BAM! to control that computer, it doesn't work that way. You have to join an account manager through BOINC in order for BAM! to take over preferences and whatnot.

Sorry for the delay, I've been away from the forum for two weeks. I'm currently not able to reproduce the problem (although usually I'm able to create meaningful bug reports... sorry ;-)), but I suppose it was just an error on my side. If, nonetheless, I can reproduce that behaviour later, I'll try to give you a decent bug report here.
