Before we begin, just to clarify: I've read the FAQ, Google'd it, searched the forums, and prayed to God, Jesus, Mary, and Buddha already with no luck.

I'm currently using GridRepublic but am trying to switch to BAM (it has a couple projects that I want to participate in). I can't seem to get BAM to find any of my accounts in the projects I'm currently working on. All of the projects (Rosetta@Home, Milkyway@Home, Einstein@Home, PrimeGrid, and SIMAP) give the error "Account not found" when I try to find them using the "Sign-up for projects page" (WCG seemed to work fine, however). While I did not originally sign-up for BAM using the same email/username/password as the other projects, several weeks ago I went around to everything and made sure they were exactly the same. I've waited a couple weeks before creating a thread hoping something would sync and it would magically work, but no luck.

I also tried creating a new account on Einstein, which created a duplicate account. I couldn't gain access to the account as the email and password log me into my other account.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I found the problem (I'm a PHP developer, by the way).

I'm using the + trick in gmail to categorize my email. In this case, I'm using myemail+dc@gmail.com (dc=Distributed Computing). The lookup account is interpreting it as a space instead of a plus sign (i.e. you are passing it through GET and not urlencoding it).

I'm going to go change the email in all of my projects and hope I don't get a split CPID.

It's actually coded in PERL and using some version of PERL URL encode. I'll check that encoder.

It is kind of frustrating that I cannot use my account (with email hawken@thehawken.org and the same passwords everywhere) with projects which I have participated in, e.g. DistrRTgen, SETI@home, Milkyway@home, rosetta@home, PrimeGrid, and all of those.

Same here. I would like to use BAM to be involved in more projects. I have same username/email/pwd for BAM and distrrtgen, but it just would not find my account.

Your problems are not related to this thread. There are no "special" characters in your usernames.

Please verify if your problem is the same before posting in a thread.

i know this is a very old thread, but as i have the exact same issue now with "Account not found" error just when using "+" character in email adress, i would like to ask you, if you did fix the issue back then.
If so, could you please check if it maybe was reintroduced later again?

Ooops, sorry, for finding an existing account I had to edit another script than creating an account. I also added debug code. Please try again.

Now i get an exclamation triangle and "Failed" message.

OK, fixed that.

Now i get "Incorrect response from project" from all projects i had already tried earlier, plus TN-Grid.
