So, under BAM! settings page BAM! knows how frequently my hosts are to be contacting BAM!. Also, under Host list page it knows what type of work preference group each host belongs to, and under Work preferences page it knows during what times of the day each host is supposed to be active.

Can it put all this to good use and email me a "Your host BLAH_BLAH_PC seems to have stopped instead of doing useful BOINC work" note if it notices that a host has not been contacting BAM! during its designated working hours for more than twice at the intervals it was expected to be seen?

Many times I don't look at most of my machines for days/weeks, then much later I go to some project's website, and there I see my host list and notice that a host or two have not been returning anything for a long time, just to find that either BOINC crashed some days ago, or some Windows Update ended up rebooting my PC. Days lost! Makes me weep...

Anyways, just a thought. I am sure it would be useful to a lot of people, and increase the returns to the projects that are now lost by sitting idle.

Ciao
Tuna

Of course, first the bug I describe in http://boincstats.com/en/forum/18/9935 would need to be fixed...
