If I attach a host to BAM, and the host is attached to projects that are not supported by BAM, will those projects be detached, in favor of only being attached to the projects BAM has settings for?

All projects listed in BAM do work with BAM, just not all functions work (see the supported projects page). This means that for all projects projects works:

    *Joining the project
    *Attaching a host to the project
    *Detaching a host from the project
    *Setting the resource shares
    *and for most: setting the preferences


Only the projects that do not show on the 'Project list' page or on the 'Sign-up for projects' page can not be controlled in any way (joining, attaching/detaching host) BUT if you have a host connected to (lets say) WCG, it will NOT detach and it will keep crunching for WCG.

That last part is what I was after. I crunch for WCG and Hashclash, for example, and wouldn't want them detached.

Most projects use outdated code.

In case of WCG: they run a totaly different kind of server software, and it takes much more work for them to support BAM.
