I would like to have multiple profiles for Resources.

As a hypothetical example, lets say I have a mix of macs and XP systems. I also run Projects A and B (and C, D, E...). For project A, there is an optimized application that makes the mac 2x more effecient running project A.

So I want to get the most work out of my machines as possible by assigning a 100/5 resource assignment for only the Macs for project A. It would be 100 only for A, but I want to have a second project assigned for when project A is down. So I leave Project B with an assignment as small as possible, say 5, yet still return results before the cut-off.

On the other hand, for my XP machines, there is no optimized aplication. So I want them to run 100/100. Or maybe I want to tweek the XP machine allocation higher (5/100?) to end up with a 50%/50% credit or work spit when it is all said and done.

Any chance of this?

TIA!

BOINC 5.8.x will support per-host-prefs. I also thought about per-host-resource-shares, but haven't brought this up yet.

I'll suggest this to the client devs.
