I have a farm of computers that once or twice a year I have to re-image and then re-install boinc on. If I just delete the host from my host lists I don't think BAM is talking to the projects and deleting that host as I am getting lots of old hosts that aren't doing anything.

How should I be removing the hosts from BAM such that things are cleaned up properly ?

BAM doesn't remove hosts from project websites, and even if it did, I don't think that would cause any problems (no lost credits).

I noticed BAM automatically deleted from my host list a host that hadn't communicated for a month or two.

I have to do a clean boinc uninstall with deleting BOINC folder, too. I wonder if the host gets the same BAM host id after reinstalling BOINC. Any experiences with that?

It'll get a new BAM host id and you'll have to set which projects you want it to crunch for, etc.

Can I hold the host id with a backup of the 4 acct_mgr_*.xml files?
