Hi,

Anybody? To use BAM, do you create a new account or do you use your existing userid (BOINC)

Just asking, because I am stuck here... Cant use the newly created BAM userID because I would have to start from zero and loose all my credits.

I've been looking around in the forum and have noticed that it is impossible to delete an BAM account. OK! Fair enough, but how do I use my existing account (BOINC) in BAM... I can log in, but cant get the hosts to show! When first using a newly created BAM userid and "connecting to account manager" you cant get the computer to "forget" this new userid. I tried everything..

If nobody knows any fix'es is there another way to control the hosts? And which is able to use asteroids@home as well as seti@home?

I can see that there is not very much trafic in here anymore, is it because you are doing it another way?

Sorry for asking these questions, but we would really like to know before quitting..

Kind Regards,
Dan/Denmark

... and here I am, back again.. replying to my own questions !?!?
Reading about this other issue I noticed that the problem is a common problem.
If things are like it says in this post I solved the problem:

Delete all projects in BAM
Desconnect from all host's
Delete all computers and reinstall everything....

Problem solved...

I'm sad

Just to be sure; you need to use the same username, email and password at BAM and all of the projects you want it to control. Once you have a BAM account with the same info as the projects, go to "Sign-up for projects" and click the "Find account" radio button next to the project(s) you want to add to BAM. When you want to sign up for a new project in the future, you can use the same page to create an account there.

The "Host list" under "My BAM! menu" will show you hosts you've attached to the project manager function.

Hi guy's

Thanks for all your help Now I'm a happy alien again...

It's just that I was so much in doubt what to do about the registration procedure..
Noderaser wrote: "....Once you have a BAM account with the same info as the projects.." and this is exactly it! once you have a BAM account!?? If you have BONC installed and added a project say seti@home and after some time you like to use a account manager (BAM in this case) Now you try to create a BAM account from the registration site suding the same username and emailadresse as in BOINC - this will give you an error "email allready in use and username allready in use. Therefore my question was, what do you do from here? Creating an BAM with new info ruins everything as i learned the hard way, so what you do must be to "log in" at the BAM login site using your BOINC userid and emailadress and then go from there???

Right, right?

Kind Regards,

If you are getting an error that the username and password are already in use at BAM, then you (or someone posing as you) must have already signed up for an account... Have you tried logging in to BAM using that information?
