It MIGHT have to do with the NEW "Privacy Rules." Have you read the NEWS Item posted yesterday on this Board?

2018-12-15: BOINCstats - Statistics export consent (4179563)

Comments on the following newsitem

The following project require you to consent to exporting your statistics to stats sites. If you do not do so your data will be removed from the export and in accordance with the GDPR all your data from these projects will be removed from BOINCstats as well. This data can’t be recovered!

You need to consent before they enforce the setting in the export!

  • Albert@home *
  • Einstein@Home (enforced starting 2018-12-17)
  • LHC@Home *
  • LHCathome-dev *
  • World Community Grid *

*Already enforced

Project owners: Please let me know in time when you add this setting so I can add your project to this list!

I'm sure it is, I guess Willy needs some time for things to be sorted out on his end.

It is the GDPR and not importing right away is to protect the users who forgot the check the consent checkbox.

However, it's the users' responsibility the check that box. Ultimately some users who want their stats on BOINCstats will be removed because they did not do so.

Hello Willy,

That would mean that users agreed to be visible in the stats should be in the export files.
But you did not or did not succeeded in importing the xml-zip-files from LHC@Home and LHCathome-dev since Dec11 resp. Nov14, the dates where their servers were upgraded, so I suppose that you need access requested by you to the project administrators like you probably did with World Community Grid.

That's not the issue.

Most users ignore the warnings and forget to set the consent checkbox. Then when the projects enforce the setting and removes all users without consent from the export the XML files shrink drastically.

A long long time ago I had some problems where incomplete or corrupt XML files caused problems for the import. And there were also projects which had various problems causing their exports to be broken for some time. Therefor I added checks which not only validate the XML but also check the size. When the size shrinks too much compared to the previous export the update is blocked.

So, the exports without non-consenting users are much smaller then the previous export and get blocked. I have to force the updates manually now.

The reason I did not do so is because I only put up the warning on the front page this weekend. I want to give everybody a little time to set the checkbox so their stats won't be cleared.
