Two weeks ago and two Sundays ago whee the major adjustments take place after I was forced to change my email address and password I have lost all my credits for the past twenty years. I was number 9 in world rankings and I lost it all for I now have no CPID after I requested a change to update my CPID since nothing happened after I originally change it in two weeks ago. Since I experience this before I submit that this is a bug that needs to be look at for it is not fair to ask the user to check what was their last amendment they received regarding submitting results to BAM. I foloowed the Q@A reagrdibg this issues and am not happy that after two weeks and a couple days I got COID, hence no credit. What can I do to rectify this.?

At https://www.boincstats.com/stats/search/?search=Cruncher+Pete you can see that at the moment the points of your username are split. As you can find in many threads here at BOINCstats it can take quite some time before a stats site is aware of a change in the email adress of a BOINC user on the individual projects. To assist this process you can take these steps.

  • Are you sure you changed your email address on all projects that you are crunching for? Only then your split CPID's could merge into 1 CPID again,
  • Have you at least 1 host which has all projects attached? Crunching is not necessary, just attach the host and set it to no work is enough.
  • As soon as most projects are using the same CPID for your username, you can try to use BAM! at https://www.boincstats.com/bam/retiredProjects/ to add your retired projects to that CPID.

Patience is needed in all situations

Thank You TeeVeeEss for your input. The first thing I did was to log in to all projects that were not down and made sure that my credentials are the same in all. I have With 14 Machines spread over all projects every day for two week (including 2 Sundays) I contacted some projects as I could not update my details as well. I asked they are uploading my credits as it is not shown in Boinc. One replied that it is a Boinc Stats problem.. As that did not work in desperation I renewed my CPID last Monday resulting in No CPID at all for mt ID: 34996 - Cruncher Pete

I give up for surely 3 weeks is long enough for the Stats to show my credits. I have donated my time, my machines and a hell of a lot of money for BOINC and the Science. I got to number 9 in the world. I think I am ready to retire and save Electricity, I will miss my fellow cruncher to compete with them and have some fun.

I am just wondering. Is there an average length of time as determined from similar instances that one needs to wait before a CPID is allocated? My user ID: 34996 has never been changed as far as I know, yet the stats state: "User ID doesn't exist in BOINC combined or doesn't have any credit. " I feel I could wait until the cows come home for I can not see how projects could send my daily result to a non existent user.

I am also wondering, since no reply received even to my last email 4 days ago that Willy might be more sick than we thought. I believe that he is on the mend, let us hope that is the case, but is still not able to look after the stats and forum.

In summary, I changed Teams from TSBT to BOINC@AUSTRALIA 4 moths ago. I won't repeat my credentials as I have listed it in previous thread of this post. However, My Signature still states that I belong to The Scottish Boinc Team. I am led to believe that this is due to the Signature badges allocation are based on BOINC CPID and I have none and had none for two weeks despite crunching 20 projects with 5 Computers since about a months ago to ensure everything aligns after I had to change my email address and Password due to attempts to use my machines on projects that I did not originate and my Team was changed back to TSBT. My Account on BoincStats BAM lists me as ID 34996, Cruncher Pete with a Blank CPID and my Team still shows me as TSBT.

I have no idea what else to do. I have been told to be patient. Do I have to be patient for Months or Years as 4 weeks will pass in a day or so without any change accept to loose my CPID altogether,. My account is not deleted for I can still log in to it, but my detailed stats state that the user ID does not exist or has no credit. MY avatar says otherwise for I am still number nine in the world.

Wishing you all the best for the recovery Willy.

My last desperate call for help. Todays is Monday here and it is over four weeks since I changed my email address and password. I am logged in as user 34996 but I have no CPID, despite crunching all projects with all my machines everyday for weeks.

Is there as possibility to create a CPID for me that will retain all my credits, yet allow project to export to that CPID?

Or, will it work if I change back my email address that now is not functional to what it was and change my Password back to the old one?

Six weeks have elapsed and I still have no CPID. Its a shame to loose my World Position N0: 9 and 643,407,882,207 Billion of Credit. Surely something could be done?

It is now 7 weeks since I had to change my email address and password. The old email address was: theseeker1942@gmail.com or it might have been: petershane42@gmail.com. I made sure that all projects used the same email address and PW as shown in my BAM Profile, and crunched all projects for days, still no change.

My user name is: Cruncher Pete, User ID: 34996. I am still logged in to this account but it shows No CPID.
I discovered that currently my daily stats are going into User name: Cruncher Pete, User ID: 1212411186981 with CPID: 381225b60319933f87ebdec956764477. The problem is that I did not create another account and I was not told of the change. In addition this CPID only shows 13Billion Credits as to the true credit of 643,406,623,287. Rank 9 and not the current 271 world Rank. (See my Avatar)

My correct stats are used by FreeDC. User name: Cruncher Pete. CPID: 3312e5b60319933f87ebdec956764477.

Can something be done to correct this as I like to remain with BAM/BoincStats.

Regards,
Peter Shane, Aka Cruncher Pete.

You are split over seven CPID's, they need to merge to have BOINCstats link the main one properly to your BAM! account. That's something BOINCstats can't do for you.

Your main account (I assume that's the one one position 9) was loosing credits because some projects split of due to a changing CPID. Currently it's gathering some credits but not much.

To answer the question in the thread name: your credit is going to seven different BOINCstats entities because of split CPID.

Changing your email can change your CPID, you can find many examples of that happening here in the forums. The CPID algorithm of the BOINC software is somewhat of a black box, I have no influence over that,

Don't know how FreeDC fixed your problem, he didn't share his solution.

Willy. Please read this post of mine that now spends the time of three months and I still do not have a CPID and cannnot read read my true daily credits.

At the time of posting my original message 3 months ago, I stated that my Account number is: 34996 that had a credit of 643,407,882,207. World rank: 9.

I changed my email address and password at that time because my account was compromised. That resulted in loosing my CPID completedly and whilst I can still log into my account 34996, it shows no CPID, hence can not read my credits. Despite ensuring that all projects was changed to the same User name, email address and passwords, I still have no CPID in my account.

I noted that I have a number od split CPID's but none of them shows my correct Credits as is still shown in my profile./ The problem in addition to that is that I am unable to log into any of those other CPID user numbers to see what account information they have and change it s necessary to read the same as all my projects..

SURELY, something can be done to rectify this as I just can't accept to loose all my credits because I changed my email and password.

Willy, please tell me what to do, and if you can't fix it, please refer it to BOINC Management as I understand you are still a member.

Hello Cruncher Pete.
From what I've learned of other examples regarding CPID splits, I think there are two things to bring to your attention.
First, projects on which you can't change your credentials anymore and thus can't update to your recent ones, will probably be split forever. So, anything that is not active anymore should be lost. Accepting it might be the best way to cope with it, even while it's not an exactly comforting thought. One of my team members is still in the same situation that you're in, and he doesn't like it one bit!
Second, to collect your active projects to a single CPID it's helpful to attach and actively crunch all of the projects on at least one machine. If you should happen to have projects with applications for Linux, Macintosh or Windows only (e.g. Gerasim vs. WEP-M+2), you need to use an addtional machine to collect them by crunching the outliers and some other project(s) on it. We managed to do this for our "RKN-Cluster" team account which was split as well. Took some time, but it worked.

HTH. Good luck!
