Hi, I'm a new Boincstats users, although I've been using Boinc for SETI@Home for several years.

I'm trying to add a new project to my profile here ... I have already signed up at the project site, and received/returned work units. However, when I try to add the project here, I get a status returned of "wrong password", even though I've not been asked to enter my password for that site.

What do I do now?

Go to the site you want to add to BAM, and change your password to the same password you use for BAM. That is the only password BAM knows, and if your project doesn't know it, then they won't talk.

That would be helpful, if the passwords weren't already identical ...

While we're on the subject, both my BAM account and my project account also point to the same email address. The only possible difference I can find is that BAM insisted on using my first/last names as a user ID, while I use "wbblakemore" as a standard user ID elsewhere. However, since all the documentation I can find at various sites is that the email address is the key used across BOINC to identify user info, I can't understand that being the real problem.

I'm trying to connect BAM to the World Community Grid ... perhaps the "wrong password" error message is a red herring, and results whenever a connection with WCG can't be made, regardless of the reason?

I think I may have discovered the problem ... Under my BAM profile, the CPID showing is not the same as it is for my various project sites, even though the email address is exactly the same.

Here's the list, cut'n'pasted from the various project web sites:

SETI: 8da415147c11d1f69de24429a7762d7a
WCG: 8da415147c11d1f69de24429a7762d7a

BAM: 0a523c204316dccbbb2201a55c9b694a

I have no idea why BAM came with a different CPID, nor do I have any idea how to correct it. Hopefully, one of the forum administrators will refer this to the appropriate person for repair.

Currently, when I go to BAM stats page, I'm showing that I have no results, while going there through a SETI@home link (containing the correct CPID), everything shows up fine.

This is true, I checked and the email, user name and password all have to be the same. You should be able to change your BAM username if you go to the Main account page and select "Edit account". I didn't see anything there that would limit what your username could be. There is also an option to reset the CPID if it continues to be a problem.

Problem solved (I think) ...

I told BAM to reset my CPID, and it came up with the same one that the work sites are using. My real stats are now displayed properly.
