After some internal restructuring actions of my ISP I have to change my email address. Because I already knew that email change will have some major consequences for BS and other stats sites, I searched the BS forum and as a result I came to the conclusion that it would be better not to change the email address in the projects. The only consequence of that would be the fact that I will no longer receive mails when I'm UOTD or when a project, e.g. seti, is asking for donations. I can live with that!

If I decide to change my email address, I will end up with two BS IDs due to the fact that some projects are retired and for that reason I can't change my address there. I don't want to live with that!

Are there any consequences when I only change my email address in my BS main account settings? Will it result in an empty combined stats page or is it only for internal use?

Ah and you have to know that I don't use BAM, so the option to reset CPIDs is not available on my main account page! Will it help when I enable BAM for a short time to get the reset CPID option and will it work for me? I never attached to any project through BAM.

If I missed something or you detect some kind of misunderstanding, help would be appreciated. Thank you!

The "Sync retired projects" function takes care of keeping the old stats with your current account & email address, but only on BOINCstats. It took a while (about a week) before everything normalized after my email address change, but I don't have any missing credit.

But if I got things right the function "Sync retired projects" is also only available if I activate BAM, isn't it? Does it make any difference if the projects had been attached by BAM or not? Does it work if none of my hosts is attached to BAM?

It works for all the projects that you have in your BAM! account. If you were not a member of BAM! when the project retired, you cannot sync it.
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

This is exactly the answer I was afraid of!

Hmm, when did NanoHive get retired? I didn't think I was a member of BS/BAM then, but I guess I was...
