Does this apply to the newly available shpping to Canada? ie If I buy off newegg.ca will you still get the commission? If not would it be possible to set this up? There are a few items I'm looking to purchase now that they ship to Canada and I would love for Boincstats to get a chunk.

Sid suggested an EVGA Video Card to me on the SBox. It's available from Newegg, but it's unclear if Newegg will ship to Europe - Could you please inform as to whether or not they will ship to countries like Holland, or in my case, Italy?

Not to worry. I managed to find a GeForce 8500GT , 1GB DDR2 on-board, for just €40!! Runs fine on the ole Boat anchor, but I've now got probs with processor speed.... Never mind....

Check the your power supply and the minimum power requirements of the card...
Newer video cards are such hulking beasts that they have rather large power requirements, both for the card and cooling. If you overdraw your power, there is a narrow margin where you will get performance issues, before your computer actually shuts down.

Also, depending on how many pixel shader units, and your display (assuming the new cars is your primary / only display), if you get a GPU unit crunching, your display will slow down.

Yes, it redirects to the homepage, but it sets up a cookie so it knows it was refered from BOINCstats.

Looks like the cookie is valid for 6 weeks, so after that time you probably have to use the link again.

If it's possible, and not too much work.. perhaps you would consider a "BS Build of the week"

Where you could post links to components for a mid-grade cruncher, something that is a good balance of performance and price.
Perhaps if it is possible, even have an option where it will direct the person to newegg to a page with a shopping cart and all the components already added. I think this would be a big benefit to the less technically inclined users, and a good way to get some commission.

Don't know if the cost/work ratio is worth it or not, but might be worth a try. If' it's really successful maybe do 3 categories, budget cruncher, performance cruncher, and ultimate cruncher. Just update them from time to timer, perhaps once a week to take account of changes in availability and price.

Perhaps this is something newegg offers as a service to affiliates already ? I don't know but it would be cool.

I know it would be rather subjective, but if you posted builds targeted towards crunchers, I think a lot of people would be interested.

Perhaps for now a budget build would be like the one above, a midgrade build would be a high end quad or dual quad Xeons, and a high end build would be an i7 with dual 280/295GTX vid cards. I know Newegg already has the ability to mail wish lists to other people, perhaps this is something that can be done similarly ?
