What are the cut off times for the daily totals?
For instance, at the bottom of a user's detailed stats page it has a list of the past 30 days or so and I was wondering at what times are those numbers representing? I looked through the FAQ and couldn't quite find what I was looking for.

Also, the FAQ has a bunch of typos.

From the FAQ: How often is BOINCstats updated?
But I doubt that the dates are still the same, I think it's more about 1900 UTC.

Edith says:
As it just happened, perhaps the data are really from 1500, and the update is finishedat something around 1700 - 1800 UTC

And typos: What language? If german, tell me, if any other, go in this part of the forum and complain

Well my initial thinking was right apparently, the cut off time is at 15:00 GMT. (Which turns out to be 12pm noon where I live)

At 15:00GMT each day all new info from the XML files is imported into the BOINCstats database. New users/teams/countries are inserted at this point, and daily/weekly/monthly numbers are calculated.

Oh, and the typos are in English, I've never seen the German version of the FAQ.

So, where are the taipoes?
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

So, where are the taipoes?
Most of these are minor typos and I'm simply picking bones but the first one I list drives me absolutely freaking nuts.

  • Last bullet point at the top:
  • "Why do I loose credit in BOINC combined stats?"

  • Under creating your own signature graphic:
  • Adding "_banner" between the ID-number and ".gif" will get you a signature with the projects devided over two colums. This is practical when you participate in many projects. The result looks as this:

  • Under how often is BOINCstats updated:
  • Until this date, BOINCstats never failed to run it's daily update , which means: when new credit is granted and the XML output by the project is OK, you'll get your credit on BOINCstats within 25 hours. (it's = it is) (should not have the apostrophe)

  • Under shotbox rules:
  • Shout can not be empty
No more then two messages in a row are allowed from the same IP-address

(should be cannot & then should be than)

  • Under what columns are in the stats:
  • Compare: shows a graphic comparisson of selected items. 5 maximum!
    (should be comparison)

  • Under the duplicate/split accounts section:
  • It is impossible for me to manually edit your accounts to create one account. It would take to much time to do this for everyone. Just wait a while, and your accounts will line up automatically.

Also, it'd be nice if you could take down the XtremeLab & SZTAKI Desktop Grid links since those projects are dead. (Also, the link to the FAQ page for the SZTAKI Desktop Grid project actually has the title of Xtremelab at the top.

(PS, it's 10am where I live since the east coast of the USA is -5:00 GMT)

Xtremlab has been down for almost a year, however, SZTAKI is about to release a new application.

From the projects forum on 18th Feb, posted by Project Admin:

"We are currently working on compiling the application code for several platforms. Hopefully, this will be completed this week and we can start the new application.

This application is more deterministic regarding computation time, so there won't be so much fluctuation as with the other application. Preliminary tests showed that a workunit runs about 3 hours on a Pentium 4 processor.

There will be lots (like millions) of workunits for this application. The workunit distribution will be random among the two applications, but the other application will likely to be suspended to address problems that has been reported.

There is no screensaver in schedule yet."
