Nice site I found here. I immediately looked up my stats. Found out that my stats are shattered in more entries (SAH and PAH vs CPDN) instead of one overall entrie. I'm sure I use the same email address on all projects.

Looking at the BOINC Cross Platform ID you display and the Cross-project ID the individual projects supply I also see a difference.
1. Your ID's as such differs from the ID's the project give
2 You indeed display for CPDN a different ID as for SAH and PAH, while the projects supply one identical ID.

Can you explain what is going on here?

I downloaded the latest XML file from CPDN and searched for your account. This is what I get:


I can't look into your account on the CPDN website, but the XML file doesn't have the same CPID as the other projects.

If the XML file is incorrect, there is very little I can do about it.

If you go to the SETI@NL forum, you can find a way around this problem, explained in Dutch.

The CPID is hashed with the email as it was typed in, including case. If there is a difference in the case of the email, this would show as different on the stats sites.

I would strongly suggest that you go to your user pages on each of the projects and check your email.

You are mistaken: the CPID is not a hashed version of the email adres. In that case, CPID's wouldn't need to synchronize accross projects.

The CPID is a random number, generated when needed by a project.

I copy/paste my email whenever I create a new account. Also when creating my displayname and profile, I copy/paste the content.

What I'm particular curious about is that all project displays a Cross-project ID. Mine is c90fb1e882f397f976c1d16e07d4155f: all the same for all projects (P@H is not shown though).
The XML CPID supplied by the projects differs from the Cross-project ID displayed on the web site.

What I also found out (through the S@NL fora) is that a sync / merge of ID is a favour of some BOINC admin in the past. So I guess there is at the moment nothing left to do for me then.

most curious is that untill a few days ago all worked fine. Both sites BOINCStats.com and BOINC.dk supplied my total stats correctly, but 2 days ago the split appeared.

You can see it by the +350 places drop of my top account. I used to hover around place 440.
(Last Month +430, Last week -/- 373, Last day -/- 6, pos 828)

So, what is changed in the past few days??

You joined LHC@Home on 27-09. This created chaos in your CPID's.

The CPID as listed at the bottom of My Account pages on the projects that display it is different than the CPID as reported on the third party stats pages. Therefore some processing of some kind takes place between the project sites and the stats sites. I believe that this is a hash with the email address, which is why the email address is so important.

BTW, the guest was me before I logged in ops:

The chaos will be straightened out when you have successfully connected to all of the projects at least once from a computer that has the new CPID. The CPID is reported from the server to the client, the client decides if it needs to update its CPID (choose the larger), and updates the CPID on all of its projects, which in turn send them back to the project servers which update their database. Eventually everything is borged. The only form of resistence is a non-connection. Predictor will get the new CPID whenever it comes back up after the 4.x migration.

Well at least 3 of my PC's are running all 4 projects (exept Pirates). So updating the CPID is just a matter of time then.



What I noticed is that I've updated my general pref's on the L@H site at account creation time and that those settings where migrated to S@H and CPDN aswell after a while. Probably the Sync already took place.



Indeed the general prefs of P@H where not updated, as 'predicted' by John. I'll guess I have to wait a few days to let things straighten out by itself.

I honestly don't know. I have no influence on what is in the XML files. I do not edit them before processing.

There are however 2 users that will always have combined stats. Me and someone from SETI@NL. I'm testing a method where BOINCstats takes control of the user accounts.

It depends up on which CPID is chosen. Since the internal CPID is chosen at random(?) for each project, each person may end up with a lower or a higher value for each new project. The BOINC core client will select the numerically highest when it notices a new value. When the server is informed of a new higher value from the client that value is used there as well. Since I have joined a wide variety of projects fairly early, my internal CPID starts with a "d" and therefore is somewhat unlikely to actually change.

Yes, but you also asked as to why your P@H results were separate from the others and they were for the longest while. Now they are combined with all the others.

Mr. de Zutter states he did nothing and if one is running BOINC v4.xx, one can not update with P@H as they are still BOINC v3.xx - so what happened to change the status quo as yours are not the only ones to have merged.

I assume you did not quickly re-instal BOINC v3.20 on one computer, do an update with P@H and then switch back to v4.xx.

I am just curious as to why, seemingly all of a sudden, some users had their CPID updated with P@H and others have not.

I do not think your explanation truly answers what occurred.

It was S@H that was out in my case because of a blank XML file. BOINCStats now deals with blank XML files, and S@H has since produced filled XML files again. This is not the same problem with Predictor vs. the rest of the projects.

etc etc etc....

for 04-11-04 it says for this used to be on pos 50595
while in overall stat it says pos 13523....

How is this possible... a user not earning credits in
personal stats ..... booming up wit almost 8k credits
per day ????

Someone (I have seen mote of these entries) know
how to cheat boinc ?????

one stat says no credits at all while the other says 6126 per day....

Please do understand (everyone) that I do not want to blame
anyone for getting their credits, but this looks weird to me.... and I
just report it as it might be a bug in the stats, or indeed that the
stats are spoofed somehow.... Another one is Omegazone.

Both look like weird but I see that they seem to crunch for
predictor only.

When checking I found a duplicate entry for me in the Overall BOINC stats. Up until today there had not been a problem. Upon review I found that all except Predictor had the same Cross ID.

My question: why would there be a sudden change, from one update to the next, that seperates these? I do underastand that your system parses Cross IDs into sparate entities, but I don't get why it would finally (after the long wait on Predictor that we have all sufferecd through) see fit to do so.

Don't know either. I just use the CPID from the exported XML files. Maybe Predictor is preparing for re-launch, and cleaned up or reinitialized the database.
