I just dropped 19,365 places in the country stats despite a long period of contributing 800-1,000 credits per day and rising gently accordingly. My world position changed in accordance with what you might expect (up 7990).
Have my British compatriots suddenly gone into a crunching frenzy or is this an anomaly?

See here.

Same issue. The fix was also applied to countries.

Thanks Willy, but I think it may be more to do with the fact that I am now listed as "International" rather than British (as I was yesterday). Any idea why this might have happened?

Well, check your projects. You are International in four project, and British in three of them. 4 > 3 so the script sets you as International in combined.

I know, previously you were British and now I screwed things up again and made you International. Sorry for that, but I think it's better that to set the country that is used in most projects.

It definitely is.
I was a menber of the new team "For Dennis Peters aka DogBytes" in whole BOINC, although I only crunch it (and it only exists) in malaria. Now I'm back again in SETI.Germany for the whole, and only in it in malaria.

Great work, much better as before.

Thanks Willy - I have been through all of my projects and set my nationality to UK and all is well again.

If I might make a suggestion .... perhaps your script could set the nationality to "International" if NO other projects have the user's nationality set to something else?

that would only work for people who have 1 country setup, if someone has more that one say UK and Niue which we seem to ahave a lot of KWSN loonies do, then how does the script work that the person is actaually from UK?.

the short answer is it cannot, keep with the largest country count approach willy, its the simplest logic and easy for everyone to understand.

If you set up your projects correctly, then there won't be a problem.

Ni!
