On my detailed statistics page when I look at the "World history Postion",
(cross platform identifier 706d5157e0e5fb27bce8eae1a1e9b931 or John Price, New Zealand.),
it shows history prior to me joining up in May 2005 of falling to some where around 110,000 in the world.
Though this was never the case it means that this chart for me is virtually useless as the months after that are are around the correct level of 2500. Thus the latter months are always a straight line hugging the "x" axis.
Can some one help explain why I have the false data prior to joining Boincstat?
If that particular chart was to only show the last 12 months the problem would eventually disappear.

I think that the graph is shown this way because it is assumed that before you join BOINC your world position is at the bottom of the table with crunchers. After you got credit your world position changed to it's real value.

***EDIT***
And I think this is the right look for the graphs, because when you get your first credits, you do not start directly from that world position, but you go from the last world position available to your curretnly achieved world position.

There is nothing wrong with your stats. You joined BOINC before may 2005. SETI is not a good example, as it shows the sign-up dat of classic, but you joined CPDN in september 2004, and in the beginning you didn't get much credit.

Please review your sign-up dates (check the confirmation emails) and you'll see you are a participant since then.

I am not really understanding what you are saying. I did not move from 110,000 in the world to 2500 in one month. I have not got that computing power!!!! So the stats the way the "prior to joining BOINCSTATS" cannot be correct. the question is how do I make it correct.

I cannot find the confirmation emails that I received. Is it possible to get them repeated?

You are not correct when you say I did not receive much credit from CPDN in the early days. I had been running CPDN classic for a year or so prior to converting to the BOINC CPDN in September 2004. From Sept 2004 I was producing at more or less the same rate before I joined BOINSTATS in April/May 2005 to what I am now. It is clearly something wrong with the way BOINCstats recorded my "prior to joining stats". I have also endeavoured to find a profile for me on the BOINCSTATS page to see if I can update my information but can't find it. Can you give me directions to that?

You do not 'JOIN' BOINCstats, your stats are exported by the projects and picked up by BOINCstats without the need for 'joining'.

Before the 'sudden' rise, you might have had split accounts. After these merged, you get all the credits of both accounts into one account (the one that remained). More on this can be found in the FAQ.

Resending your account confirmations (send by the projects, not BOINCstats) kind of defeat the reason I told you to look at them: the dates in them would be today, not hte actual signing up day.

There is no profile page here on BOINCstats. I gues you mix up BOINC, the projects and BOINCstats. BOINCstats is not responsible for BOINC, that would be BOINC itself (BOINC). BOINCstats is also not responsible for the projects. Their links can be found on the frontpage. BOINCstats only shows stats, nothing more.

In the standard BOINC forums you can see your signup date in the left hand pane under your name. At any rate I would have to agree with Willy if you were in SETI classic you have a very old account that was not used and therefore very low in the world position for a long time before you started actually using it. It also doesn't take much to jump the first 100,000 positions. There are many participants that never complete one task before giving up or they have problems starting and generate multiple accounts.
