Im not sure if this is a bug or if this is something unique to me but maybe someone can help me figure this out. Im new to this but I've been running boinc now for 46 consecutive days 24/7. I've been getting my stats ok and I know there is a delay in posting stats. 10 days ago rosetta was generating so many errors I ended up reseting the project and starting over. The errors went away and I continued with rosetta & seti, but now none of my stats are being posted and its been a full 10 days. There are no errors in the logs and results appear to be updated acording to the log messages. According to boinc.dk last contact is april 8. Nothing has been posted since then anywhere. Im wondering now if I've lost 10 days worth of work. How can I fix this?

Im running XP on a 3.0Ghz machine with 1G ram

Thanks
Norm

As you can see here: Search for Gizmogorilla, you're there, even twice.

Reading the FAQ #14 would probably help you.

And the posting of relevant Links, as mentioned in the Bug submit guidelines would help us answering!

My apologies but I did read the FAQ and specifically FAQ#14. It states that to end up with a single account I should use the same email address, which I did, and to also run at least one system with all projects. Rosetta has been the common system to the projects. Have I missed something?? Is there any way I can combine them if I've done what the faq suggests and it doesnt work.

Thanks for your help and patience

You don't only have two accounts for BOINC combined, which the FAQ covers, under normal circumstances - you also have two accounts (unless someone else has chosen the exact same name as you incl. capitol letters etc) at both seti and rosetta. So it would seem that you've created new accounts with which you attached to the projects.

You said you reset rosetta. How did you do that? With the reset button, or did you dettach and then attach again and perhabs by mistake created a new account in the process?

Anyway, there's no way BOINCstats or yourself can merge those accounts as this doesn't look like a CPID issue. The account numbers are different, therefore there are two account and two CPIDs that won't syncronize.

I don't know if they'll do this, but it's worth a try: Try asking the project admins to merge your accounts. If anyone can they are the ones

I think Im dealing with 2 problems here. One was rosetta generating error after error on my machine. I disconnected, reset my machine, and reconnected only to continue to get errors. I then deleted the project file on my computer through boinc software, not realizing that this would start my stats over with a new account, so this was something of my doing. For SETI I had disconnected that project for several days and when I tried to reconnect I received an error meassage saying I no longer had an account and that I should create one, which I did, so that must be how I ended up with 2 account for each project. I now understand how this situation came about, but Im a little bummed out that the result is I basically have to start all over again. Although the stats are there I feel like I've lost 40+ days of generating credits since they are not combined. I will see if I can convince the powers that be that they might combine my stats but I also read in the faq that they would not do that.

Thanks for the help and clarifications and above all the patience
