I made a few pictures (not too many) from the server while building it;

The parts (That's my wife's stuff in the background ):

Case with mainboard

Mainboard with CPU's + coolers mounted:

Then I hooked up the PSU and found out that either the EPS cable was too short or the position of the connector on the mainboard was wrong. Either way, I was not too happy with this:

These are the four hard disks in RAID5 that hold all the data (database + cache):

And here you can see them in the case (on the right):

The two hard disks in RAID1 that hold the Operating System and the php pages for the website:

Build in, left in the middle:

A close up of the cable-jungle at the back of the RAID5 drives:

And at last I got the memory. Four DIMM's (2GB each), to enable quad channel memory. As you can see behind the memory, I was able to get a few millimeters more length out of the EPS cable, and it's now positioned alongside the case:

That's all.

I see no redundancy here except the disk-arrays?

What redundancy would you like to see?

At least for the power-supply?

Wanted to do that, but
a) the case has a weird location for the PSU, and putting a redundant one there would be tricky
b) these redundant PSU's don't come cheap

When the HD's are not redundant and one breaks down, we loose data or the server is down until the OS is reinstalled. When the PSU breaks down the server is down until I replace it (max 24h unless I'm on vacation), which usually is quicker than a broken HD.

The servers are hooked up to a UPS.
