Okay, not sure if this belongs here but I'll put it here anyway. Every time I type something in the Shout Box I have to wait for Eon's for it to actually show up in the Shout Box so that I can see it and Post it. If I type something in another Part of the Forum like here the Typing shows up immediately with no waiting for it too. Don't know if anybody else is having this problem or not but it sure is bugging the heck out of me ???

PB, when you start typing in the forum your text is not displayed directly in the Preview, what is happening now as I type this.
When the preview once is activated it is updated while typing.
Sometimes you get automagically a preview without pressing the preview button. I don't know why, perhaps Willy can clarify that.

The Preview Box opens up right away Crystal, it's the Typing I do that doesn't show up while I'm Typing it until after some time. But it seems to be a lot faster showing the Typing in the Shout Box this morning, maybe Willy did something about it or maybe it's just that it's 5am here and Internet Traffic is less so things get over the Pond quicker ...

Preview only works once the page is fully loaded (to prevent JS errors). Fully loaded means all images, JS files, basicly anything needed for the page.

But Willy, I'm talking about what I Type doesn't Appear anywhere for as much as 2-3 Minutes sometimes in the Shout Box & then once it appears I can Post it. Like I said it seems to be running better this morning for some reason so I don't know.

Thus no magic, just sequential actions.

There's no need to wait for the preview to post, the button is not disabled.

Please check if the page is fully loaded within those 2~3 minutes. If it's not, preview will not work.

I'm not sure your fully understanding what I'm trying to tell you Willy & I don't know how to explain it any other way than I have ... The Shout Box is working much better for me now so that's good enough I guess ...

PB, if I read your original post correctly it is the typing in the actual text entry box that is being delayed, i.e. you type and nothing appears. I get this problem in the text entry boxes some also but they usually only last a few seconds. For what I see I am fairly sure it is related to the javascript controlling the text entry box and trying to generate the preview combined with the activity on my computer and browser. As an example just typing this I saw the g from generate and was finished typing the before I saw any of my typing.

Yes, it's the Text in the Shout Box it's self and nothing to do with the Preview Box, The Web Page is fully Loaded I know that, but the Text I'm Typing at times will take forever to Load into the Shout Box it's self aside from the Preview Box. I haven't Paid much attention to the Preview Box but will when it happens again to see if the Text is loading into it or not too ...

The Typing I do in the Forum like here doesn't seem to be affected by the Delay though, it's just the Shout Box for me ...

The preview doesn't make any trips over the Internet; the delay you experience is related to your computer and browser. Not sure why you guys are experiencing such large delays; the delay on my computer is only a word or two behind what I've typed, on a G4 1.42 GHz Mac Mini with 1 GB of RAM, running Firefox 3.0.12 and OS X 10.5.7.

It's even stranger that you experience a different delay between the forum and shoutbox preview; I suppose that could be related to differences in the way each preview is implemented.
