With that kind of speeds everything must be slow.

Please don't be obtuse Willy ... I have an 8/0.5 account. At 2.0 it still shouldn't take 5 minutes to load one of your pages. What is the average homeowners "speedtest" from your country to Winnipeg?

May it be 100 miles more?

And from here to Holland:

Ping is faster

Willy, I have a GREAT sense of humor, just ask my friends and realtives!

This is why I asked you PLEASE not to be obtuse. With your responses you have managed to successfully divert the focus of this thread first, into a discussion about internet speeds, and now you are trying to deflect again with a personal attack on me

REGARDLESS of my internet speeds (which are the same as they have always been) TODAY I am experiencing substantially slower page loads from your website ONLY ... on the order of 2-5 minutes to load a page and often where the page will start to load but not finish even after 20-30 minutes -- however it does not time out, Firefox just sits there saying "transferring data from www.boincstats.com". Even as I type this reply, the page I am currently on has not FULLY finished loading as I currently see the same message from Firefox this very minute.

Willy you seem to get VERY defensive when questions are asked. NOWHERE did I suggest in my original post that the fault was yours personally or that of the BOINCstats server. I merely asked if anybody else has been experinencing HORRIBLY SLOW page loads at this web site and I am still waiting for an answer to THAT question.

I didn't have any problems the whole day. All pages load in normal speed (IE6).

With even slower bandwidth than yours, I don't have any problems with the BOINCstats pages.
Loading this thread including all pictures within about 4 - 5 seconds.

Thanks for your replies CP and Gundolf ... although I wouldn't mind seeing responses from somebody on MY side of the pond. Perhaps the problem lies somewhere in between. But a tracert dosesn't seem to highlight any major problems???

Attempts with Firefox in SAFE mode and with Internet Exploder yield similar results for me with page loads

Hmmm, things are getting stranger ...

It's getting harder and harder for me to get back HERE at all. I've tried some project websites too. Not surprisingly, I'm having similar problems with PrimeGrid ... but I'm also having trouble with WUProp. But meanwhile, FreeHAL and DNETC work fine, as do (again, not surprisingly) Collatz and MilkyWay

As someone on the same side of the pond, yes I am having load time issues as well. I also have the same problem with primegrid so I would suspect the network. I did some trace routes and some speed tests to North American and European cities. The slowdown seemed to be going from London to mainland Europe.

However as I was typing this speeds have vastly improved. Traceroutes showed about 25% speed improvement and speedtest went from 2.6Mb to 4.6Mb on downloads.

I just got an email that the data center has problems with their core router. You can see a serious dip in bandwidth around 22:00GMT when they were working on the problem.

It didn't seem to affect us (= the ones at this side of the pond) much but I did get a few down alerts from Pingdom. Maybe the problem affected routing directing the the Americas.

I did not yet get an email that the problems are solved so loading issues may persist.
