I am looking for help in removing BIONICstats from my PC, above all stop BIONIC accessing it. In non geek language please, I am but a layman.
Don't prejudge me, after many years it is time for me to "hang up my spurs".
Until I got a birthday greetings email today, informing me I had earned xamount of credits since my last birthday, I had assumed that I was no-longer a participant. You could say; "if I didn't know why worry and leave the status quo", I just do! The email sent was a "noreply", so I could not respond that way. The website doesn't have a "Contact Us" link, so I cannot resolve that way. If these posts are covered by "Moderators" I would have expected some sort of communication/help by email.
Alas no, I have to ask some kind sole out there.
Hope you can help and thank you for your time.

Simply go to the control panel of whatever OS you are using and (in Windows) use add/remove programs and select BOINC. If you need further help just ask.

Thanks for reply, I did that 'yonks' ago, various PC searches, even in sub-folders, reveals NOTHING.
Do you think they have picked up my combined credits from day one, without dis-regard that I seemingly are no longer active anymore? I can still LogIn.
Is it possible they can still access this PC without me being aware of it?
If so, HOW do I stop it? Are there any checks I can make to see the IN & OUT activity?
Thanks again and best wishes for the New Year.

I believe there was a database problem at your only project--Climate Prediction-- where credits were lost for a few days and then re-granted. This may be what you are seeing. Also, I believe your BOINC account will never truly go away and there is no way to make it do so. You will forever be in the database as a contributor.

Nope, "they" have never accessed your PC; it's always been the other way around: your PC has accessed the project servers (as long as it has been attached to at least one project).

In fact, after removing BoincManager from your computer, you are no longer participating in any way on Boinc

The email you recieved came from BoincStats (a "server" error, in fact, check this news), not from any Boinc project... it's just because a valid email is still on BoincStats database, so... if you do not wish to recieve any more emails, and since you cannot delete your own account here, you just have to replace that email address to anything dummy you want

Thanks to all who responded.
I am now reasonably happy there is no activity to-and-fro the server of BOINC.
Also, the link to the "News" of the birthday email error - that cleared that up. I have changed my email address also, which is a good thing as it is a company address and I am less than an active member there as well these days.
I think I can say I/WE have put this one 'to-bed'.
Lastly, good wishes & good health to ALL.
