Well I have Some more computers joining my battle for crunching.
One will join sooner than the other as one will be a replacement for an in-laws computer and the other is my Christmas present.
But I have two Pentium 775 3.0 Dual cores coming in. Mine will be switched to a Q6600/G0 and Oc'd to a true 3.0 Quad Core.
Then when I get another motherboard, that Dual Core chip will once again join the ranks.

(I just ordered the computers (3 total) tonight actually)
So I will take the P4 2.4 to my house and replace it with a P 775 3.0 DC.

The Uncle in law needs a new computer, so Father in law is buying him one.

I will get the third for Christmas, but will be upgrading the 3.0 DC to a Q6600/G0 when I have the money. I will also get the 3.0 DC back up, when I have the money to buy mobo, memory ect.

In parts, or needing parts I have...
A 3500 that needs a mobo, memory controller went out on the board.
A 3000 that needs case and power supply.

As far as my family is concerned the bastards are all dead. I have not seen any of 'em in over 15 years or so.

So yeah this little single engine is really gettin' big!

If they've all been dead for so many years, I don't suppose you will have seen them recently. In such circumstances you are perhaps lucky to be the sole survivor, crunching so vigorously. And with the cooperation of so many in-laws.

When I tell my in-laws and own family what a healthy and productive hobby crunching for science is, I am greeted with either incredulity or barely disguised hollow laughter.

I have, however, a cunning plan to boost my productivity.

A young and competent relative used to work for the UK Department of Health and Social Security and is now at the National Audit Office. One of these government offices sent two unencrypted server disks containing the Social Security and personal details of I think 25 million people to the other department in London, unregistered and through their ordinary internal mail. Both disks have been missing for a month. It would apparently have been too expensive to extract just the info the Audit Office needed, and to encrypt it. So they just copied the lot and sent the entire national records. They have done this 3 times. Third time unlucky.

If this relative installed boinc to crunch for me on a few hundred computers belonging to these government departments, do you think anyone would notice?

And I told the in-laws that if I am gonna work on your computers at a reduced rate, your gonna do this. All they do is email, surf and spread sheets and crap so it is not even noticed to them.
