Can/Will BOINC run under Windows Home Server? I've not tried it but the PC I'm currently using for BOINC keeps powering itself down mysteriously. This has been going on for several weeks and I'm looking for some other device for running BOINC.

Is ther a WHS version of BOINC?

Regards,

Turner

Basicly WHS is just another version of Windows 2003 server so it should work just fine.

It may be overheating. Try to limit how much CPU BOINC can use by adjusting "Use at most __% of CPU time" in the preferences at http://boincstats.com/bam/preferences.php.

I run BOINC on my WHS, works well. no problems at all. I think on the WGS forums there was a blog post on how to set it up.. etc

running the normal 32-bit BOINC 6.4.5 for windows on my custom build WHS without issue.
just keep in mind the pre-build units with WHS are not build for high performance/cpu load, so cooling might become an issue in those small cases.
