Hello,

Ive been having problems installing BOINC on my PS3 with YDL installed. I have followed the instructions on the BOINC web site but can't get the BOINC manager to show up. I was able to extract the archive and view the BOINC folder, but when I try to run the executable programs, nothing happens.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Patrick Murphy

Are the permissions on the executable files correctly set?
The output of a "ls -al should be something like this:

Code:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 xxx xxx 1955608 2008-12-10 03:06 boinc
-rwxr-xr-x 1 xxx xxx 230176 2008-12-10 03:07 boinccmd
-rwxr-xr-x 1 xxx xxx 6754744 2008-12-10 03:06 boincmgr

If not you should change the permissions with chmod +x or chmod 744 filename.

Where do you have donwloaded the BOINC client from ? - There is a BOINC client from the PS3Grid/GPUGrid project and from me (www.dotsch.de) available. On the BOINC download site, only a x86 and x64 BOINC client is available, which did not work on the PS3.

What excactly does happens, if you change in the directory and start the BOINC client with "./boinc". In the next step, open a terminal window, change to the directory, where the BOINC client is installed and enter "./boincmgr".
Do you get any error messages ?

Could you please change into the BOINC directory, and post the output from "ls -laR"
