Just got some Enhanced WUs. And I'm wondering does anyone has a link to the optimized Enhanced S@H applications made by Crunch3r? I know he was developping some during the BETA test of the Enhanced application.

The only bad thing is that the Crunch3r application claims 160 credits for a certain WU when it should claim 60

Hmm, seems the optimised client doesn't allow downloading of new works units.
I got some strange messages as I connected to SETI at last.
The solution was deleting the opti-client and the xml file.
SETI downloaded wu's with the app v5.15.
v5.12 of the opti-client will be useless for this wu, I suppose.
Crunch3rs site didn't mention if its working with it...

There is a new aap_info.xml on Crunch3r's site that is working for versions 5.12-5.19 of the SETI@Home Enchanced application. Download it and everything will be fine

The client is crunching again, but I must correct myself again and refer to my first post.
[Unfortunately Willy's transition to the new forum has cut it to only one sentence ]

The estimated time of my new downloaded wu's is approx. 10 hours, before I replaced the v5.15 with crunch3rs app again.
Now, with the optimised app, the crunch time will be 10 h, too. After 1 h I calculated it myself and it wouldn't change.
Too bad, but on my computer this optimised client seems not working, even it was the right for my cpu

Time to buy a faster machine, I think

I think Crunch3r is gone and we won't see any other optimized applications from him. This is very very sad I realy like and use his applications and I'm sure those accusations of him cheating are totaly wrong.

Probably best to leave all the controversy, the mud slinging, and the downright (in my view crucifying of crunch3r in some sorta witch hunt) over there... It's unfortunate to say the least...

I'm sure if someone does need the app and .xml file; many of us have it on our hard drives, so could pass the files on as needed. That should hold people out, until the next version of SETI gets released, and new files would be necessary.

I'm willing, and I s'pose some other people would be willing to provide them upon request...

I would like to make a site with the optimized clients uploaded. But don't know if it will be OK with Crunch3r?

He's now over on the Einstein project, though as far as contacting him there, the project's down... As I understand it, he's a member of the SETI.USA team; so it might be possible to PM him on their site or something...

As for myself, I have the lattest .xml, the enhanced 5.12, and the SETI 4.11 app which includes SSE3 support for my A64 with an E3 core...

I've PMed Crunch3r so lets see what will be his answer.

Reading the SETI@Home boards, I see that Crunch3r doesn't want his application to be distributed and he even asks that people should delete the optimized applications form their computers This is very sad

But I think that I'll leave the application for now (sorry Crunch3r for not obeying your will).

Meh, having left himself I wouldn't have suspected him to care what others did with what he left behind. A guess a site is out then... However, as to deleting the apps, umm, well

I'm sorry for the vitrol that was directed towards him, by an individual who shall remain nameless. I really do feel that individual was in the wrong and should have stopped instigating trouble (such as resurecting a thread he is purported to have asked the mods to occur in which the proverbial **** hit the fan). However, once something is developed and "out there", it's out there already. Resinding it in retro-active fashion would include determining the decisions of others wrt something that was already made available to them...

Lets hope that at least TMR won't leave the scene. And with a little bit of donations for a new license for the Intel Compiler he might make the new Optimized app
