I don't understand what BAM is? Can someone talk me through it please?

I changed my bam settings the other day from 24 hrs to 6 hrs. When the next update came I only had 54 credits added to my total when in fact I had nearly 200. Apparently it makes a difference. What should bam be set to? 24 hrs? How far apart should bam be set in relation to the daily update? Does it matter? Any info would be appreciated.

The setting in BAM! has no bearing on the the stats updates. It controls how often your hosts check to see if they should attach, detach or change emphasis of the projects. 24 hours is plenty often, I think I have mine set at 56.

That page was very helpful to me, but When I try to connect with Attach To Account Manager I'm told I cannot connect to a boinc client. Can someone explain this to me please?
