Why does BAM find it necessary to change your e-mail address at some of the Projects just because you decide to change your BAM Account E-mail address here at BAM, in doing so it Split my CPID & now I get to become the 1'st and 2'nd Person to cross over the 2 Billion mark ...

I know! I know! It's because the CPID is based, in part, on your e-mail address. So if you change your BAM! e-mail address, it should change the address at any projects you currently are attached to via BAM! If you change your other projects to your new e-mail address as well, your CPID will get shifted to the new one and all your stats should line up again.

I know that but I didn't ask BAM to change My E-Mail address at the Projects, If I want it changed at the Projects I'll do it myself. There's no notice by changing my E-Mail address here it will change at the Projects too, that should be put in if that's the case.

Anyway I think it straightened itself out now or will on the next Update after I went back to the original E-Mail Address. I first noticed it was messed up at BOKs Site & then here but it's okay now at BOKs Site so the next update it should be okay here too.

I'm not sure whether it's listed in the FAQ or somewhere, but changing your e-mail at BAM! definitely changes it for attached projects. Also, even if the e-mail stays the same, if you change your password at BAM!, it changes to the new password on your attached projects as well. If it didn't change your e-mail at the projects, you would never get your stats back after an e-mail change, because your BAM! CPID would be calculated on your new e-mail address, while your CPID at each project would be calculated on your old e-mail address. It's definitely designed that way on purpose, and for most users it is a desirable design. You should be able to change your e-mail back at the projects if you want to, and I think BAM! would still be able to control your settings, but your stats would be split on separate CPIDs.

For the record, BAM doesn't change your CPID; the projects do that when they receive your changed account information, or for a variety of other reasons that may seem frivolous. BAM saves changes to your account to the projects, in order to keep them all lined up; changing your information through BAM is definitely the way I would recommend--to save time and prevent any typos between projects. Also, BAM is set up only to use projects where your account information is the same as your BAM account.

Still isn't straightened out here at BS although it has straightened it's self out at BOK's Site after being messed up there too ... As you can see my BAM Account, Normal CPID Projects & the 3 Projects that Broke away all show the same CPID so it should line up properly unless there's something I'm missing

13a87c3a303bcdca4ba0ed600daebb6b -- <<<What my BAM Account show's my CPID as

13a87c3a303bcdca4ba0ed600daebb6b -- Collatz <<< Normal CPID Project

13a87c3a303bcdca4ba0ed600daebb6b -- QMC

Steve,

The last 3 mentioned projects still have 508190f96643ed54eec6b1275238891a as your CPID here at BOINCstats.
On WEP-M+2 at least you have 13a87c3a303bcdca4ba0ed600daebb6b, so I suppose after the next daily update it should correct automagically.

Hopefully so, at the Project's the CPID are correct so if BOK's has picked up the correct CPID then it should here too soon ...

What's the difference between your BAM! account email address and that it's supposed to use while communicating with the projects?
Where are those two different email addresses in your account?

My whole intent was to stop using BAM for awhile, actually I never use it anyway, that was why I changed my BAM Account E-Mail so it would stop picking up my Stats, that's all it's ever done before if I gave it an improper E-Mail Address. All BAM should have done is not pick up my Stats & not take it upon it's self to Change my Project E-Mail Address's. If you give BAM an improper then that should be your fault & BAM shouldn't work for you then until you give it the Proper E-Mail Address. How does BAM know for sure it's changing the Proper Accounts at the Projects if I give it some other E-Mail Address than the proper one.

It's very simple to go to the BAM settingsand uncheck "Use BAM's AMS functions". Then BAM! doesn't do anything anymore.

Otherwise BAM! interacts with the projects and tries to update the projects with the same info as you update BAM! itself.

So, just uncheck the box and then change your email.

BAM! did exactly what it was supposed to do.

I'll do that as soon as my CPID gets straightened out here, on the last update it was still messed up. The CPID's are correct at the Projects so I don't know where BAMs getting/taking it's info from that the CPID's would still be split.

It uses the password as well. BAM! is an account manager, that's what it's good for and what is does. BAM! doesn't "pick up" any stats, that's just what BOINCstats does, which is distinct to the account manager. Signing up for projects in BAM! has nothing to do with your BOINCstats statistics. You don't need to sign up to any project in BAM! to get the stats done. But if you sign up projects to BAM! you do so because you want to manage them, that's why you use an "account manager".

Forget that, looks like the WEP Project has been Picked up here too ...
