I can't understand it...
Why did you post "translators wanted"? ¿Do you really want them?
Still don't see this web in spanish, the third most spoken language in the world (1st is Mandarine-Chinese and 2nd is English)!!!
Still available for this stuff if needed.

Michel.

Hmmm, someone else took the Spanish job before you, but it isn't going too fast.

If you still want the job I'll add you to the translators tonight.

I too want the site in Spanish.

Althought most Taiwanese people will understand the meaning of
this translation (about 85% ~ 90%), but some phrases are not
what Taiwanese people will use.

Again, Thanks for your valuable time !

The difference is only like between American and British English.
However, as on any popular website (and in the BOINC software), there shoudl be two versions of Chinese - Traditional and Simplified. And one should be very careful with the encoding, so that it can work for *most* people.

Hi everybody

I'm not the official French translator but i did something there (and following post) :
http://www.boincstats.com/forums/index.php...opic=822&st=0&#

The topic is now closed. Sorry, i didn't know how translations works. I just found this part untranslated and thought it could help doing it.

Anyway, i'm available for other translations into French if needed. Including news if the feature's available.
If you need me to insert the translation into a special interface, I can do it as long as it is somewhat intuitive (I know nothing in programming). But I guess a copy/paste of my posts can do the job.

@ Willy : you already have my mail address. It's the best way to get in touch with me

I normally work with a single translator for every language. Sometimes these translators themselves ask other people to help them, but that’s up to him. It would be a mess if a language that I do not understand (and French is such a language) is translated by two different people that do not know each other. What if a discussion arises about what is the proper translation?

But you might be in luck. The official French translator is a member of your team, named Mandrake. You could ask him (maybe in your forum) if you can help him out. And I think you can, as you already proved.

Ow, and about the news: the news is only available in English.

Chinese, I'd like that, but is that possible? How about all those characters?

Anyway, if it is, I'll set it up.
yes it's entirely possible
you just have to use UTF-8
for the web it's quite simple, save your files as UTF-8, and serve them as UTF-8 (preferably by using the correct http headers rather than meta tags)

I'll give Danish a shot

Hi Bruno!

I do not see any Danish translation as yet

If you need help I would be happy to assist. I am the founder of the largest and first ranked Danish team and would like the team members to have the service of their favourite stats besides our own - BOINCstats.com, of course - in Danish.

AFAIK he has his own page to maintain as well, so perhaps that's why he's not ready yet.

Where did my first reply go?

Well, anyway: Bruno has done a handsome translation of BOINCstats.com and is almost finished. Just some small parts of the FAQ and the donation page remains to be translated.

I would be very happy to translate the little remaining parts, so I hope Bruno sees this as I have not been able to find his e-mail addresse anywhere. At least not with a superficial search.

About the traditional Chinese, I think it has room for improvement.

As a Taiwanese, I usually have to guess a lot when I tried to use Chinese version on internet. They're often in bad grammar and have wrong words. BOINCstats is way much better and Seti@Taiwan did a good job I should say, but new things like bam and news are not updated. Since that I'm glad that I'm in senior high, can read English and be able to understand much of the site.

When it comes to translation, I want to make the Chinese traditional version a version can be read by those who wanna understand more but have poor English, like students in junior high. What's more, people unfamiliar with English used on this site can understand more when comparing Chinese version with English version, then they can surf on their own someday even when translation hasn't come out.

So, though I'm a busier-and-busier senior high student, I'd like to donate my free time to translating, if anyone can tell me how to put my translation on the internet.

Still half a newbie I had to admit...but it's getting better, a little better all the time...

Uh, for there's already a "Chinese traditional" page which is not updated very soon, I can help translating news or something that whenever I'm free, as soon as possible. Seeing that version still in a lot of English makes me feel strange.

And, for creation of "Taiwanese" version, I can help--but, I don't know if I can get it all right. There are too many tones and I live in the middle of Taiwan, maybe sometimes misunderstanding will occur.

So, it now looks like the question for me--which one of those improvement is needed more.
This depends on site users and site manager I say, that which version is needed more urgently and needs more people to help to make it.

Well...words above seems to be in a mess...
Anyway, I could help both or one of them, it's the question that which needs me more.

I have to prepare for school now, but I promise I will check this topic tonight.

Still half a newbie I had to admit...but it's getting better, a little better all the time...

I understand from the other translators that there is traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese. Taiwanese is a dialext of Chinese. Am I correct that the translation by Seti@Taiwan is actualy simplified Chinese?

Hi Willy,

Simplified Chinese is mainly used in China mainland while Traditional Chinese is used in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Hi Yun,

IMHO, you should contact the SETI@Taiwan team to help the translation of the traditional chinese version.
