Sort of like it, actually! What about giving it the same font for all of the letters, especially the one used on the logo. Or maybe you could use the font on the current BAM! logo; that way you get the boinc look, and the bam name in the same logo. Also, it could use a bit of background color IMHO. Keep the ideas coming!!

Sorry, but I haven't got the font from the new BOINC logo because I didn't do that design.
So I used a font which fits the new BOINC logo without being the same.

One suggestion: How about something like the long BAM! logo but with the "B" in front of BOIND not to be filled and removing the second "B" ?

But the more I look at it... well I guess it will grow on me.

It was definitely a shock to log onto boinc/dev and see that new logo. It was early and I thought I had logged onto the wrong site

I've tried to get an impression how the new logos would fit onto this website.
This is only a rough test, but I think the new logos are a bit less readable when being downscaled to fit in the places.

The font size is as big as in the current logo, so I think it's just some kind of optical illusion at first sight. I'm interested in what the signatures would look like. There it must be clearly readable, cuz they're used on almost every projects' and teams' pages.

I meant superimposed, but not over the entire image of the word boinc, just overlapped somewhat below the word BOINC to make it look below and in the foreground. Exacly like the image just below this post, with the word BAM moved up about 1/4 inch. Sorry about the confusion: I'm not into graphic arts.

If you look at our website here you'll notice that the space for the BOINCstats logo is bigger than the one for BAM! logo on the right.
So the BOINCstats logo could have more width.

Nevertheless I'll give your idea a try... but don't complain when the poll opens on Sunday and you'll have to choose among too many possibilities!
